Mr. Pfohl's U.S. History I: Academic, College Prep, and Honors
The time periods we cover range from President James Monroe's administration through World War I. The main focus of the course is to show the changing impression of the United States from a perceived world power to the achievement of that power. Discussions and assignments will be aimed at cause and effect reasoning, showing what tactics the United States used against other countries to attain this position while facing problems internally from leadership, economics and politics. We will also link to current events to show how history repeats itself and how the rest of the world is trying to emulate the United States' rise to power.
